Many years of fundraising culminated with a dedication of the Rusin garden. The event was held in the lower garden which afforded a gathering area for the over 1,000 attendees.
On June 25, 1939 many gathered in the "middle" garden to celebrate the completion of the stonework in the "upper" and "lower" garden. The bridge across Doan Brook and the stonework on Lower East Blvd were never completed.
What a fantastic day for the Rusin Community of Cleveland. Many years of hard work on the part of the Rusin Cultural Garden Association was rewarded with a gathering of over 1,000 Rusins from Cleveland and surrounding states.
Through information gathered from newspaper articles, it is safe to say that many important city and church officials attended this event.

The parade began at Wade Park and traveled to the new garden. As you can see the Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, choirs of the various churches, representatives from other cultural gardens etc, marched in the parade to celebrate this important milestone for the Rusin Garden
