From early days there was minor vandalism in the gardens but nothing to compare to the 1970's and 1980's. Cleveland, in general, was going through a very rough time.

In 2001, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation took stock of all the damage (lost busts etc) in the gardens. Fortunately, many have been replaced and remain today.
